This year’s college football season has started, which means it’s time for another edition of the annual debate: Who should I root for this year?
As we’ve done for the past few years, let’s dive into the stats to find out which teams are most likely to bring home a title this year.
What Should I Root For?
Each year the question is the same: should you root for the team that scored the most points in the NCAA Football Championship or the team that won the most games?
Well, this year things are a bit more complicated because there are actually two teams tied for the most points in the NCAA Football Bowl subdivision. You’ll have to decide which one you prefer. And it wouldn’t be fair to choose based on total points because, in theory, both teams are equal. So we’re going to need some other consideration.
Here’s where things get interesting. One of the two teams is Ohio State, which is stocked with big-name players and is coached by one of the all-time greats, Urban Meyer. The other team is the Oklahoma State Cowboys, which is led by Mike Gundy and features a roster full of underclassmen.
If you prefer to bet on odds, you can take Oklahoma State +1.5 over Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes. Alternatively, if you think that Urban Meyer is a better fit for the job or that the Buckeyes have a better shot at bringing home a national title, you can lay odds of 3 to 1 or 2 to 1 on that. Your Call!
These are just some of the considerations you need to make when deciding which team to root for. One thing is sure: no matter who you pick, the game is going to be spectacular!
