How to Switch Teams in CSGO Lounge

Hello there, long time no see! It’s been a while since our last post, but that’s mostly because we’ve been super busy working on CSGO Lounge, building the ultimate team switching tool for Counter-Strike gamers!

CSGO Lounge is a free-to-play mobile Counter-Strike game that’s available on iOS and Android devices. We originally launched the app back in April of 2018 and since then, it’s been steadily growing in popularity.

If you’re a fan of CSGO and you play on the desktop, there’s no need to download a separate app! You can play alongside your Steam friends in the same browser using ChatRoulette, a free voice chat app that was built specifically for gamers.

The Ultimate Team Switching Tool In Theory…

The idea for CSGO Lounge was born many years ago when we were playing Team Fortress 2 on our Steam platform. Back then, it was incredibly popular, allowing players to form clans of up to 50 members and compete in weekly Clan Wars.

Although we enjoyed the social aspects of TF2, we always felt that it was a chore to coordinate a group of friends to play together. When we played on the same team, it was obvious when someone was having issues coordinating, or wanted to switch roles, leaving the game unbalanced.

On the subject of balance, let’s talk a bit about the uniqueness of this game. The gameplay is fairly simple to understand: you and your teammates are pitted against an opposing team in a number of rounds, with the goal being to eliminate the opposing team while defending your own.

The catch is that each round lasts for 30 seconds and you only have a limited number of shots, so you need to make the most of each shot. If you have a lot of experience playing FPS games, then this should all make sense. Otherwise, you’d probably just want to read our guides to get started.

In order to find a better workflow for coordinating a group of friends, we built a tool that would let us quickly swap teams, giving us a true sense of teamwork. Before long, we realized that this tool could be utilized outside of CSGO, allowing players to seamlessly switch teams in any game that they played on Steam.

How Do You Switch Teams In Practice…

Although it would be great to be able to seamlessly switch teams in any game, the reality is that this isn’t always possible. For instance, most Blizzard games do not have an easy way of switching players during a match. In Hearthstone, you can use the Global Chat feature inside the game to instantly switch between players, but this is not always an option, especially when playing on mobile devices, where the screen is too small.

Similarly, in Counter-Strike, if one person on your team is AFK or disconnected, it can break the rhythm of the game. This is why we focused on making a tool that would only work in CSGO; the fact that the gameplay is relatively simple, makes it ideal for testing.

The Major Differentiators Of CSGO Lounge

Although we originally launched CSGO Lounge with the singular goal of creating the ultimate team switching tool for gamers, we soon realized that there were a number of other features that the game had to offer. Here’s a short list:

  • Realistic weapon modeling.
  • Solid hit detection.
  • Enemy footprints.
  • Vibrating alerts.
  • Sudden storms that damage your equipment.
  • A replay system that lets you see all shots that were taken during a match.
  • Supports 2 to 4 players.
  • A detailed lobby that keeps track of your friends list and the teams you’re currently on.
  • Probability of hitting a target based on the distance.
  • Weapon animations that make each shot look unique.
  • A variety of game modes, including Assault, Siege, and Zoo.
  • And much, much more!
