How to Find the Historical Closing Betting Lines for Tennis

One of the most popular sports to follow is tennis. Every year, fans tune in to watch the big matches live or on TV. They place big bets on the matches they attend or watch, hoping for big wins and huge payouts. If you’re a fan of tennis, then you must be familiar with the concept of “bookies” or “odds-makers.” They keep track of all the latest tennis betting news and odds, so you can follow the action as it unfolds. They also keep track of historical betting lines, so you can see the historical trends and patterns of betting for a particular sport.

Tennis is a challenging sport to follow because there are a lot of big matches to keep track of. If you want to keep up with all the latest news and details about the grand slams (i.e., the French Open, the Wimbledon Championships, and the US Open), then you’ll have to scan through a lot of news articles to know what’s going on. Sometimes there will be multiple matches going on at the same time, involving multiple players. To complicate matters further, the timelines for each of the grand slams can vary from year to year. So it can be difficult to keep track of all the rules and regulations that pertain to each particular event.

Fortunately, there’s an easy solution to all this. You can use our top-rated smartphone app, SmartBetting, plus we’ll walk you step-by-step through the entire process of using it to navigate the historical betting lines for tennis. Keep reading for more information on how to use the SmartBetting app to find historical betting lines for tennis, as well as other sports.

Step One: Install the SmartBetting App

The very first step is to install the SmartBetting app from App Stores for iOS and Android. This app will make following tennis easy and fun. Once you have it on your phone, you’ll be able to view all the latest news, scores, and odds for any sport you choose. You can also place bets on the results of upcoming matches using your phone’s Internet connection, or you can use NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to make mobile wagering easy and convenient at physical bookies and casinos.

Step Two: Locate the Historical Data For Tennis

The second step is to locate the historical data for tennis. This is very easily done using the app. Just open up the app, and you’ll see a “Sporting Events” tab at the top of the page. Here, you can click on “Tennis” and all the historical scores and data will appear below the tab. You can also sort the data by clicking on any of the headings at the top of the table.

This step is mostly done to provide context to what’s going on. In other words, you can use this data to understand the historical trends and patterns of betting for tennis. Also, don’t forget to check out our other sporting events sections as well, to see all the data for other sports. You can find this tab at the top of the homepage of the SmartBetting app.

Step Three: Select The Homepage For Tennis

The final step is to select the homepage for tennis. This is the default page that you’ll see when you open up the app. To change the homepage for tennis, just open the app, and then click on the three dots in the top-right corner to reveal the menu. Then, click on “Settings” and choose the “Homepage” option. A new page will open with the results of all the latest matches for the three major tours (Grand Slams):

  • Wimbledon
  • US Open
  • French Open

Clicking on any of these will redirect you to the homepage for that event. You can click on any of the matches to see details about them, including the odds and commentary.

While you’re on the homepage, you can also click on the hamburger button at the top of the page to see a menu of all the different betting options available for tennis. When you click on an item, the page will refresh and the information about that option will appear below the button.

What we recommend is that you use this page to find the latest odds for the grand slam events, as well as any other major tournaments or competitions that interest you. For example, you can choose to view the latest football odds, baseball odds, or basketball odds on this page. When you’re on another page within the app, clicking on the hamburger button at the top of the page will take you back to the homepage.

Choosing the Homepage option will not change the default scores that appear in the app for each individual match. To change the scores for a particular match, click on the match details page.

Analyze The Trends And Patterns

Once you’ve located the scores for a particular match, then it’s time to dive into the data. This is where we recommend that you spend the majority of your time, as it’s here that you’ll see all the interesting trends and patterns of betting for tennis. In other words, this is where you’ll find all the actionable data. To access these, click on the score for the match you want to analyze. This will bring up a page with all the historical data for that particular match. You’ll see the results of all the previous matches, as well as some additional tabs that let you analyze the data in various ways:

  • Odds
  • Win/Lose
  • Previous
  • Live Betting
  • Last 5 Matches
  • Top Play
  • Latest Results

Each of these options is explained in detail below:

Odds

This option will bring up a page that contains all the odds for the match you selected. To find the odds for a particular event, choose the “Odds” option from the menu on the app’s homepage. When you look at the odds for any event, you’ll see a graph that shows the odds changing dynamically in real-time. There will also be a red triangle at the top right corner of the odds page, which you can use to easily navigate to other events. When you’re on another page within the app, clicking on the hamburger button at the top of the page will take you back to the homepage.

Win/Lose

This option is self-explanatory. It presents you with the win-loss record for the selected match, as well as a few other useful statistics. For instance, you can choose to see the win-loss record by year, century (100 years), or even half-century (50 years). The data is also presented in a tabular format, for easier analysis.

The advantage of using this option is that you can easily compare the win-loss record of a certain player or team over time. For example, you can choose to compare Roger Federer’s win-loss record over the years, or you can compare Serena Williams’ record, throughout her entire career, to that of another player. This is easily done by simply choosing the correct time period within the tabular statistics at the bottom of the page. Another advantage is that, at least in theory, the win/loss option should not be affected by any unfavored outcomes, unlike the odds option. This is because, theoretically, after the match is over and the result is announced, the win/loss record should reflect the truth regardless of whether or not the chosen player(s) won or lost.

Previous

This option is used to examine the results of a particular match in the past. To access this page, choose the “Previous” option from the menu on the app’s homepage. When you look at the results of any match, you’ll see the score, date, location, and time of the match, in addition to the winner and the bookmaker’s odds. This option is great for comparing previous results, because you can always go back in time and compare them to see which results were more successful. For instance, you can choose to compare Roger Federer’s record, throughout his entire career, to that of another player. This is easily done by simply choosing the correct year within the tabular statistics at the bottom of the page.
