How to Make a Sports Betting Site in WordPress

You might be familiar with sites like Bet365 or MyBet, where users can place bets on a range of sports. But did you know that you can replicate the functionality of these sports betting sites on your own WordPress website? In this article we will discuss how you can use the popular CMS to launch your own sports betting site!

Setting Up Your Sports Blog

Before we get started it’s important to note that this guide will walk you through setting up a WordPress website so you can launch a sports betting site, not create a sports blog. If you’re looking to create a sports blog, check out these articles from our affiliate partner, Envato Marketing.

The process of setting up a WordPress website is quite straight forward and can be done in just a few minutes. All you need is a web host, a domain name, and of course, WordPress itself.

As we mentioned above, the whole process is quite straightforward and you can get started by following the links below. Once you’re on the WordPress website, you can use the platform to launch your sports betting site just as easily as you could a blog for a news outlet or a recipe website.

On the front page of your WordPress website, you’ll want to organize your content in the following way. First, you’ll want to create a section for your products. These are the digital goods you’ll be promoting on your site, including any affiliate products you’re promoting. Second, you’ll want to create separate sections for your blogs and your social media platforms (if you use them).

Creating a Product Section

The first step in setting up your sports betting site is creating a product section on your site. Your products will be what you sell on your site, including any affiliate products you’re promoting. To get started, click on the icon below.

This will take you to the WordPress dashboard, where you can click on the plus sign in the upper right corner to add a new section to the blog area of your site. Name the new section “Products” and click on the arrow next to “Products” to see the content library.

From here you can start uploading products to your new Shop section. Make sure to add descriptions for your products and add images where appropriate. Once you’ve uploaded all your products, you can click on the icon next to “Products” again to see your newly added shop.

Creating a Blog Section

Next up we have the very important matter of creating a blog section on your WordPress site. Just as you would with a product section, you’ll want to create a separate blog section for your blogs. To get started, click on the icon below.

This will take you to the WordPress dashboard, where you can click on the plus sign in the upper right corner to add a new section to the blog area of your site. Name the new section “Blog” and click on the arrow next to “Blog” to see your content library.

From here you can start creating your own blog posts on a range of topics. You’ll want to take care when selecting these topics as they will determine the content of your blog. Once you’ve created a few blog posts, you can click on the icon next to “Blog” again to see your newly added blog.

Setting Up Social Media Platforms

If you have a presence on social media, you’ll want to create separate accounts for each platform.

To get started, click on the icon below once you’re back on the WordPress dashboard.

This will take you to the WordPress dashboard, where you can click on the icon in the upper right corner to add a new section to the site. Name the new section “Social Media” and click on the arrow next to “Social Media” to see your content library.

From here you can start creating content for the following platforms. Make sure to tag appropriate keywords in your posts so they can be found by relevant audiences.

  • Instagram
  • Twitter
  • YouTube

Once you’ve created a few posts, you can click on the icon next to “Social Media” again to see your newly added social media accounts.

Launch Your Sports Betting Site

With all the content you’ve created so far, you can easily launch your sports betting site. Just visit your site name in a web browser and you’ll be brought to the WordPress dashboard. From here you can click on the icon in the upper right corner to go to your shop.

Alternatively, you can click on the icon next to “Blog” to visit your blog. And finally, you can click on the icon next to “Social Media” to visit your social media accounts.
