Is That a Betting Pool on When Trump Will Be Impeached?

Now that the House has voted to impeach President Trump, is there somewhere that you can go to place your wager on whether or not he will be removed from office?

You might think that with so much on the line there would be a wide variety of bookmakers willing to take your money, but you would be wrong. In fact, the only places you can find to bet on the impeachment of Trump are Indian casinos. And if you ask us, that’s probably because betting on anything related to politics is highly dubious at best. There’s no telling what tricks the politicians will play and no way of guaranteeing a win. It’s therefore best left to the professionals.

Why Impeach Trump When the Senate Will Not Impeach Him?

It’s important to keep in mind the difference between the House and the Senate when talking about the impeachment of a president. The House votes on whether or not to impeach, whereas the Senate decides whether or not to convict. If the House votes to impeach, it simply means that they have found the impeachment to be legitimate and worthy of proceeding to the Senate for a trial. It does not mean that the president will be automatically removed from office. In fact, as we’ve already established, there’s no way of knowing what will happen in the Senate once it gets started. There is also no telling how the senators will vote once they get into a room and start talking about impeachment. A couple of them could very well change their minds and vote to acquit, but that certainly doesn’t mean that the whole process was a waste of time.

All Politics Are Local

While we are certainly not recommending that anyone ever bet on politics, it is important to keep in mind that the impeachment process is very much a political one and that the outcome will be largely dependent on political factors. Because of this, it’s best left to the professionals with experience in these matters. If you’re looking for a way to pass the time while you’re waiting for the impeachment proceedings to be over, then you might as well place a wager on them. Of course, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you could always place a bet on the impeachment before the president even takes the oath of office. That way you’ll know how things turn out a year from now.

Why Are You Wasting Your Time With This?

You might be wondering why we’re getting so involved in all of this and whether or not it’s worth your time and effort. After all, this is just one of Trump’s many scandals that have plagued his presidency and which he will almost certainly never be charged with. It’s an important part of his history that will never be repeated and it’s quite possible that the Senate will acquit him anyway. So why even bother?

The answer to this is pretty simple. Believe it or not, this is one of the few ways that you can actually affect the outcome of the impeachment proceedings and make a difference in something that is important to you. If you think that the impeachment will fail, then you have the option of doing nothing and simply moving on with your life. If you think that it will be successful, however, then you can take comfort in the fact that at least someone was able to bring some measure of justice to this. It’s very likely that not even Trump himself will be able to shake off this scandal. At the very least, you’ll have proven to yourself that you did everything in your power to expose this and bring it to the attention of the greater public. That’s certainly not something to be ashamed of.

What’s Next?

Once the impeachment process is complete, the next step will simply be to see what the Senate does. If they convict Trump, he will become the third president in American history to be removed from office. If they don’t, then his term will end in early 2021 and he will presumably be allowed to serve out his remaining time in office.

It’s important to keep in mind that this is all just speculation and that there is no way of knowing for certain what will happen. But it’s also important to realize that if you were really smart, you would have found a way to make some money off this whole affair. And who knows – maybe you’ll even be able to parlay this into a career as a financial planner.
