What’s in the Resident Evil 2 Collector’s Edition?

I’ll admit it,’Resident Evil 2′ is one of my favorite games of all time. There, I said it. I know that sounds like a big statement, but hear me out. Not only is it one of the best games of the Resident Evil series, it’s also one of the most terrifying video games I’ve ever played. That’s probably because it was developed using the Quake II engine, which is, in fact, pretty terrifying. Not only does it have one of the best soundtracks of any game, but the graphics still hold up today as some of the best imagery of the late 90s.

Yes, that’s right, ‘Resident Evil 2’ is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this month. That’s right, this year. After missing the boat on the Nintendo Switch, Capcom has decided to bring the classic survival horror franchise to the new generation. And boy, are they ever putting it all back with the PS4 and Xbox One! It’s hard to believe that 23 years have passed since the original game’s debut on the PC. And now, it’s coming back with a brand new HD remake that even more fans will enjoy. It’s also been announced that ‘Resident Evil 2’ will be one of the launch titles for the Xbox One X, which is pretty exciting!

All-New Game Plus Remake Of The Classic

So what’s new with this year’s remake of ‘Resident Evil 2’? Well, for starters, it brings with it all-new graphics that even today look incredible. The art direction and character designs are also on point and help set the nostalgic mood whenever the game loads up. And speaking of looking incredible, the new version of ‘Resident Evil 2’ also includes some of the very first playable demos of the original titles. There’s also been some tweaks and improvements made to the gameplay, which really makes the difference. There are additional zombies than in the original game, as well as the addition of some great new enemies.

As I mentioned above, ‘Resident Evil 2’ is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this month. But, if you want to play it now, you’ll need to hunt down the collector’s edition. This edition includes all of the above as well as a physical artbook and an OST CD. Yes, that’s right, there will be an actual CD included with the game! I don’t know about you, but I always enjoy having my favorite music playing in the background while I’m playing, and this is one game where that just makes sense. Hopefully, Capcom will decide to include more music in the game in the future. There are already some great tracks included in the game, but it would be nice to have access to more music during gameplay.

Additional Content Included In The Collector’s Edition

If you’re picking up this edition of ‘Resident Evil 2,’ you’ll also be happy to know that there’s a lot more included. Not only does it come with all the above, but it also includes a 12 inch figure of Chris Redfield, a replica of Raccoon City, and a plastic display case. That’s right, the 12 inch figure of Redfield is nearly 7 inches tall and has an incredible level of detail and articulation. It also comes with a hand which you can put in a pose to look like Redfield is holding a shotgun!

The replica of Raccoon City looks fantastic and is a fully formed entire city. It even has a functioning traffic light so that you can navigate the streets just like in the real thing. While the replica isn’t mobile, it does come with several add-on pieces that can be attached to it to make it look like it’s driving or walking around. The replica also has a set of hands that can be put in a gesture just like in the game!

The last additional piece is a clear plastic display case that will protect your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console and the disc that comes with it. Yes, that’s right, the case is designed like a refrigerator and includes a handle so that you can carry it around like one. It’ll make any room or storage space look like a museum!

So, as you can see, there’s a lot to look forward to with ‘Resident Evil 2.’ Not only will you be getting back one of the best games ever made, but you’ll also have access to all of the additional content mentioned above. It’s definitely one of the best Xbox One and PS4 remakes yet, and even the console generation that comes after will have a hard time comparing. If you’re a fan of the series or just want to own one of the best games ever made, you can’t miss out on this one. ‘Resident Evil 2’ releases on October 12th for Xbox One and PS4.
