Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the most popular games in the world, and for good reason! It’s a first-person shooter where you fight against other players or teams of players in multiple dimensions, using a variety of firearms and grenades.
While the game has been around for a while, it gained a large amount of popularity after the 2016 edition of the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) – the single largest tournament in CSGO’s history. The tournament was held in Katowice, Poland, and featured 16 of the best teams in the world. It was there that Team Liquid won the entire tournament, becoming the first team to defend their title. During the final stage, Team Liquid defeated Natus Vincere in a historic five-map match, 22-19. It was a nail-biter all the way to the end!
Weapon Skinners And Mount Carriers
In most other first-person shooters, weapon skins are fairly commonplace. They are, essentially, cosmetic attachments that change the way your gun looks. However, in CSGO, weapon skins are much more than that.
This is because the weapons in this game are represented by a model, and that model is then attached to a frame. There is also the possibility for some unique weapon skins to appear as unlocked rewards for completing certain tasks in the game. The models used for the weapons are made from either plastic or metal, and they are positioned on rigid bases that determine how they should handle and fire when held in the player’s hands. This positioning allows for a lot of flexibility when it comes to creating an array of unique gun shapes and styles.
New Models And New Scenarios
When speaking of unique models for weapons, we inevitably think about the akimbo (Dual wield), as it’s the most popular and efficient way to fire multiple guns in the game. But, as is the case with most popular toys, the desire for novelty means that players will eventually want to experiment with other configurations as well. This is evident in the fact that, up to three weeks after their release, the Nintendo Switch still doesn’t have a compatible version of this game!
There is also the option to carry two weapons at the same time, known as a “double-barrel”, or to use two separate pistols. The configuration of these two guns can be changed at will, and it’s not uncommon to see players use a double-barrel in different ways, from aiming them both down the sight as a rifle, to using one as a pistol for accuracy shooting, or using them in tandem to maximize damage when fired.
Fancy New Gadgets And Tricky Tricks
Like most modern day first-person shooters, the gadgets in CSGO play an important part in your gameplay. Without them, the game would become considerably more tedious, as you would be unable to perform many of the tasks associated with shooting and escaping from dangerous situations. These gadgets can be used to lock on to targets, see through walls, and communicate with your teammates. They can also be equipped with different types of sensors and motion-detectors that allow for some rather fancy trick shots!
Flares, Smoke, And Laser Attacks
Flares are another important part of any good first-person shooter. They can be used to draw the attention of the game’s adversaries towards you, or to blind them temporarily, making you harder to see and, ultimately, more difficult to kill. Smoke is another one of those helpful gadgets. It’s effective in creating atmosphere in a game, and it can also be used to help you disguise your location. Finally, we have the laser – the quintessential “point-and-click” weapon of any first-person shooter. It’s both effective and simple to use, and it allows for some spectacular visual effects.
These effects are often the result of performing certain trick shots with your laser, such as hitting a target with a single shot or setting your weapon on “safe” to shoot multiple rounds, without fear of accidentally hitting yourself or an ally nearby. The sound effects it makes are just as spectacular as the visuals!
If you’re playing on the PC or Mac, you’re going to want to invest in a first-person shooter. The options for this genre are numerous, and they range from free to expensive. However, there’s a good degree of overlap in terms of what’s popular and what works well, and you should be able to find something that suits your needs. Some of the more popular options include Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty, and Overwatch. If you have a Mac, you can use Steam to download the Humble Indie Bundle, which currently has over 100 games in it, all of which are first-person shooters. The bundle is currently on sale, and you can get up to 70% off the regular price, making it a great price for a large collection of FPSes!
Many first-person shooters have been released over the years, but few have managed to stand out as much as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It’s not everyday that we see a video game improve upon itself as much as this game did after its release – it became so popular that the largest annual tournament was named after it!
If you’re looking for a new hobby or just want to play some games, then Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is without a doubt the best choice. When it comes to investing in items that will make your gameplay experience better, be sure to check out the various weapon skins and accessories that await you. They may not seem like much at first, but down the line they can really start to add up!
