Who Will End Up on the Iron Throne? (Betting)

The final season of Game of Thrones is almost upon us, and with it comes the possibility of huge repercussions for the characters we met years ago on our journey through the books and the show. In our opinion, there are three characters who could conceivably end up on the Iron Throne once Game Of Thrones concludes its run in April 2019: Toni Collette, John Bradley, and Mark Hamill.

Here’s a closer look at each character and the odds of them taking the crown from Jon Snow (aka Sansa Stark’s brother-in-law) or Daenerys Targaryen (aka Bran Stark’s sister):

Toni Collette

Toni Collette is an Australian actor who has been featured in films like Hacksaw Ridge, The Sixth Sense, and Sing Street, as well as TV shows such as Outsourced, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and United States of Tara. She was also the voice of Captain Hook’s daughter in Peter Pan.

If Game Of Thrones ends up being the greatest show of all time, then Collette is probably the best-placed actress in Hollywood to play the role of Margaery Tyrell.

She’s the closest we have to an Oscar-winning actress, and the fact that she’s now in her 60s makes her even more of a fit for the role. Collette recently starred in the films Dumplin’, which she both wrote and directed, and co-starred in George Clooney’s Money Monster.

John Bradley

You may know John Bradley from The Lord of the Rings, where he played the role of Denethor, one of the first major characters we meet in the novels. He’s appeared in over a hundred films, including American History X, Se7en, The Avengers, and Sucker Punch, as well as TV shows like The Closer, The Bridge, and The Wire. He’s also the co-founder of the production company Square Pictures.

If we compare his acting resume to that of the other two actors on this list, Bradley comes out looking better than both of them. Aside from being in his 60s, he also hasn’t done much TV, and his filmography is notably shorter. However, Bradley has been acting for over fifty years, and has built an impressive body of work. For instance, he can play the intimidating father figure, or a calm and collected older brother. So although he hasn’t appeared in a major role since 2004’s The Dark Knight, there’s still plenty of material for him to draw from.

Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill is an American actor and filmmaker who began his career in film in the 1960s, appearing in iconic roles like Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back and Finn McCoy in The Adventures of Tony Tony. His many film roles include playing Batman in The Dark Knight, and voicing the titular characters in The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin.

If you think that Mark Hamill has been around for long enough to have appeared in a Game of Thrones premiere, then we’re afraid you’re mistaken. The actor only turned 50 in November 2018, and therefore isn’t even close to being old enough to play the part of Father Gregor in Game of Thrones. But that hasn’t stopped him from expressing an interest in playing the part – and who knows? At this point, we think it’s safe to assume that he’d be the best choice, given his extensive Hollywood pedigree.

Hamill spent the last few years of his life working on Game of Thrones and even filmed several scenes to provide some backstory for the characters, which were cut from the final product. At the 2018 Game of Thrones premiere, Hamill said, “You never get old in show business, as long as you have imagination and you play their part well, you can always find work.”

One of the other interesting things about the actors on this list is that several of them have expressed interest in taking on the role of Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. As we’ve established above, Sansa Stark’s brother-in-law Jon Snow is the King Robert Baratheon’s son, and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Which means that if the series ends after this season, then Sansa Stark’s husband, Robb Stark, will be forced to step down as king.

Which One of These Three Will End Up On the Iron Throne?

It’s been a wild few years for Game of Thrones. Since its premiere in 2011, the show has become something of a pop culture phenomenon. From winning multiple awards to becoming the most-watched television series everywhere, it’s fair to say that Game of Thrones has left an impression on audiences. If you’re one of the many people who watched Game of Thrones from the start and remember the actors on this list, then congratulations: you’ve just been placed on a waiting list for the rest of their lives.
